About
Oklahoma is a good and yet challenging place to live. We have a great basketball team, our city is growing, and the pace of life suits many of us. At the same time, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, and the state of Oklahoma suffer from some of the worst health outcomes in the nation.
We incarcerate more women than any other state and imprison more of our citizens than almost any state in the country. Our truancy and highschool drop out rates are far too high. Our communities need to be better, safer, and healthier.
We have so much we need to talk about!

The Oklahoma Justice Circle brings people together around tables and over food in the hope of fostering these important conversations. We believe that conservations can change the future. Through these conversations, we can learn, understand, and empathize with one another’s struggles.
Around tables and through dialogue, we can generate ideas that will lead to stronger communities and a better way of life for all.
We hope to see you at one of these tables soon!

Our History
The Oklahoma Justice Circle was formed in 2014, originating from the Salt and Light
Leadership Training (SALLT) program. Our initial focus was to bring together faith and
community leaders to foster dialogue around reconciliation and criminal justice reform withinOklahoma.
In 2017, we joined forces with the Greater OKC Chambers criminal justice reform initiative, spearheaded by business leaders like Clay Bennett. Recognizing the vital role of the faith community in achieving sustainable reform, we specifically supported their outreach efforts to these leaders.
Through in-depth examination of Oklahoma's criminal justice system, we recognized that systemic issues like poverty and racial bias were root causes of its dysfunction. Consequently, the Oklahoma Justice Circle committed to addressing the issue of racism as a critical component of meaningful reform.
"It is our hope that this [Breaking Bread] event will strengthen the bonds between diverse members of our OKC Community. It is our hope that friendships will be formed..."
